Features to know about

Stress-Free Installation: Custom Wiring Harness Design

Say goodbye to the hassle of cutting, splicing, or tapping into your vehicle's wiring. This Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness is designed to effortlessly plug directly into your existing system. Located beneath the truck bed on the driver’s side, the T-connector quickly establishes a secure connection, saving you time and effort in getting your trailer ready for the road.

Reliable Signal Transmission: Circuit-Protected Converter

Worried about electrical shorts or overloads? The built-in circuit-protected tail light converter ensures your vehicle and trailer's lights communicate perfectly. By combining brake and turn signals on one wire, it seamlessly bridges the gap between different wiring systems while safeguarding against potential electrical mishaps. Enjoy peace of mind knowing your lights will signal properly every time.

Versatile Connectivity Options: Compatible with Various Adapters

Need flexibility in your trailer setups? This wiring harness is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters (sold separately), broadening your options for different trailer types. Whether you're towing a small utility trailer or a larger setup, this harness adapts to your needs, making it a true all-rounder for various towing situations.

Durable and Weather-Resistant: 16-Gauge Bonded Wire

Built to withstand the elements, the 16-gauge bonded wire construction of this harness ensures durability and reliable performance over time. The included dust cap helps protect your connection from dirt and moisture, so you can tow with confidence in any weather conditions.

Quick Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Easy Access Connectors

Never get stuck trying to figure out wiring issues on the road. This harness allows for quick and easy access to all connectors and electrical systems. With it installed, you will easily locate any issues without extensive disassembly, making maintenance a breeze and keeping you on the move.

Ultimate Custom Fit: Designed Specifically for Your Vehicle

No more one-size-fits-all solutions. This wiring harness is designed to be a perfect match for your vehicle, ensuring an optimal fit and reliable operation from the get-go. Ensure your towing setup is as seamless and integrated as possible for a variety of models without compromising on quality or ease of use.

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath the truck bed, near the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

  • Recommended 7 Way Trailer Harness For Chevy Colorado
The Universal 7-WAY Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will fit your 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. I have a complete step by step install video of the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado attached to show you the process. A 4-Pole Wiring Harness to control the basic hookup of the three lighting functions running, turn, and brake lights on your trailer # 118301 is recommended. The plug-In location is under the vehicle on the driver's side. Since you don't already have a 4-Pole Wiring...

  • How to Install a Brake Controller on a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado
If your 2012 Chevrolet Colorado came with a factory 7-way then the blunt cut wires you need to install a brake controller will be already ran under the dash near the emergency brake pedal (see video of black Colorado). However, if your Colorado did not come with a factory 7-way then you will need to run the brake controller wires yourself. In order to run the wires yourself you will want to use our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # ETBC7. This kit will require...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Colordao
I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75607 hands down for your 2012 Chevy Colorado. I like this option over the Curt # 13252 because it has a hidden crosstube which not only looks better, but it also means you'll have better ground clearance. Attached is an installation video as well as a photo showing what it will look like once installed. Typically when a trailer hitch is installed on a pickup it will be used for towing. If this is what you're planning...

  • Installing a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
It sounds like you're trying to add a 7-way trailer connector on your 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. We certainly have the parts you need but depending on what you have as to which route you need to go. If your truck has the tow package and is equipped with a standard round connector to plug trailer wiring into you can use part # 74682 which includes a 7-way, 4-way, and a mounting bracket. This gives you the fully functioning 7-way and 4-way. If your truck isn't equipped with the standard...

  • Recommended Parts to Tow a Trailer with a 2004 Chevy Colorado Z71
I'd be more than happy to help you get everything needed for your husband's 2004 Chevy Colorado Z71 so he can use it for the repair business! The basics that he will need include a hitch receiver, wiring for the trailer lights, and a ball mount setup. Additional wiring and a brake controller can be necessary if he has a bigger trailer, but if he is only picking up appliances 1 at a time then he probably has a smaller trailer and the brake controller isn't needed. For a trailer hitch I...

  • Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Installation Kit for 2010 Chevrolet Colorado
If your 2010 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 has a factory-installed 7-way trailer connector then the wiring needed to install a brake controller will already be there under the dash. I like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 proportional controller for its proven reliability and ease of set-up. This is an excellent choice for all applications. If you want the very best, go for the P3 # 90195 which includes additional features like a big display and the ability to store trailer settings. If the Colorado does...

First thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2993 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If the voltage checks out there but the trailer lights still don't function right then the problem is on the trailer wiring. That would mean that problem is either due to a ground issue or a short issue. Make sure that the trailer side connector are clean...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Connector And Wiring On 2012 Chevrolet Colorado
When a 7-way connector was installed on your Colorado, a converter should have been included because the vehicle has separate lighting meaning the brake signal and turn signals are sent along separate wires. It sounds like the wiring kit was not installed correctly. For your 2012 Colorado, I recommend a wiring harness like part # 118301. This harness plugs into the truck wiring under the truck bed on the driver side. I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2007 Chevy Colorado
Actually to install a 4-way in your 2007 Chevy Colorado all you would need is the part # 118301 that plugs right in to factory wiring on your truck. There would be no need to hardwire anything at all. Also, since your truck has separate turn signals from brake lights you couldn't just hardwire a 4-way to the wiring anyway so the # 118301 would be your best option. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Installing a Brake Controller in 2004 Chevy Colorado
A fuse is not going to take the place of circuit breakers when installing a brake controller on your 2004 Chevy Colorado, you would need to use the breakers included with the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. You will also need 4-way Wiring Harness # 118301 for your Colorado if one is not installed. • How to Find Wiring Harness Connection Point on 2012 Chevrolet Colorado
If your 2012 Chevy Colorado has a factory towing package it will have a round connection point behind the rear bumper. The connection point is a round plug attached to wiring that runs through the frame rail. The plug has a cap on it that has a locking tab on it that needs to be pressed down to remove the cap. • Trailer Left Side Lights Not Working with 2010 Chevy Colorado But Work Fine on Another Truck
The wiring harnesses for the 2010 Chevy Colorado plug in line with the factory tail light wiring harness so they do bypass the tow package wiring system on the vehicle. But before going that route the problem might be more easily fixed. We just have to figure out where the problem is coming from. The most likely culprit is a dirty or corroded trailer connector on the truck. Make sure that the factory connector on the truck is clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach,...

If you want a simple 4-pole harness installation then a custom-fit harness like # 118301, # 41165 or # C55510 is the way to go.
