Will the Swagman Rooftop Bike Carrier # S64720 Fit on a 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport

Question:

Will the swagman upright roof rack fit on my Subaru 1997 Impreza Outback Sport. I measured the rack, and it is tought to tell how wide it is because it its somewhat oval shaped. It could be 3.125, but it could be bigger. Wondering if you know or have some experience with this model.

The Swagman Rooftop Bike Carrier, # S64720, will fit most factory roof rack load bars. As long as your load bars are no larger than 3-1/8 inches wide and 1-7/8 inches tall and the distance between your cross bars is no less than 28 inches and no more than 34 inches,you can use this bike carrier.

The manufacturer of this rack does not supply vehicle specific fits and we have not had the opportunity to test the rack on a 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport at this time. I would suggest using a dial caliper to measure the width of your cross bars if the measurement is that close. We have not had any complaints about this rack not fitting on Subaru cross bars.

For ease of installation of the bike rack and bike you may want to consider the Wheel Mount Tire Step, # TH2100, which folds flat for easy storage and adjusts to fit any tire size.
