Can Outboard Base Rails # RP30153 and Outboard Brackets # RP56016 be Used for Reese 16K Hitch

Question:

I have had a request from a customer that already has the 16k Reese 5th wheel but does not have the bed rails or frame parts to complete the install. Im not sure why but most likely he purchased this hitch used or just purchased the truck as is. Im not sure of the brand or year of the truck but I was trying to find the parts to complete the install for this person. will P/NS, RP30153 and RP56016 work to make the installation of the bed rails for the 16K Reese 5th wheel.

The Reese Universal Outboard Base Rails # RP30153 will work with the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Brackets # RP56016 but they are only designed to fit the following vehicles:

2011 - 2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 6-3/4 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2015 - 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6-3/4 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2015 - 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6-3/4 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2011 - 2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 8 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2015 - 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty 8 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2015 - 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty 8 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit
2011 - 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty 8 Foot Bed without Factory Rail Kit

If your customer's truck isn't one of the mentioned vehicles then these parts combined (part # RP56016-53) will not fit. They are compatible with the 5th wheel hitch but not the vehicle itself.

We do have the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 but this typically requires drilling into the frame of the vehicle. If you can let me know the year/make/model of the vehicle and the bed length then I can let you know what rails and brackets to use.
