Hidden Trailer Hitch For 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Utilizing Factory Knock-Out Location in Bumper

Question:

Looking for a 2x2inch receiver hitch set up for my 2016 subaru crosstrek non hybrid. The hitch im looking for is hidden and uses the square cap on bumper. Thanks. This doesnt havd to be a heavy duty hitch. Very light trailer. Thanks

For your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7203 is what you will want for a very light trailer. This hitch receiver fits behind the factory knock-out panel on your lower rear fascia as you requested.

For your trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Subaru Crosstrek's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, either behind the driver's-side trim panel or in the spare tire compartment. You will need to remove some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, insert the provided fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

For your ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs # 989900 which will give you different options based on your trailer height and coupler size. I've attached a video to assist as well as an article to help you determine the correct height.
