Will CIPA Comp II Rearview Boat Mirror # CM11081 Fit a 5/16 Inch Thick Windshield

Question:
I have been looking for a rearview mirror for my 21 ft ocean outboard center console. This is the perfect one - just what Ive been looking for. However my very thick or so I thought plexiglass windshield is 5/16inch thick. Is there any way this mirror can work with my windshield. Is there a different clamp you can sell me? Or an adaptor?

CIPA Comp II Rearview Boat Mirror # CM11081 is meant to mount to the windshield frame and not the actual glass or plexiglass. Does your windshield have a frame in the location you want to mount the mirror? If so, and it is 1/2" to 7/8" thick in that location then this mirror will work.
Otherwise what I would do is use a 1/4 inch thick piece of wood or plastic and attach it to the mirror to close the gap some allowing the mirror to clamp on.
