Troubleshooting Left Front Jack Error Code on Lippert Ground Control Leveling System
Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 05/12/2018 >
Question:
Since I took delivery of my new 5th wheel, my 6 point level up by LCI has gone into error mode nearly every time I try to use it, it says error left fron jack. Now the front jacks will not raise more than a couple inches without shutting the power off to the touch panel. I have replaced the battery with a new one and I keep the unit plugged in at all time to keep the battery charged. I have had the unit in the shop 4 times and they say it works fine after they reset it, but I should not have to reset it every time I try to use it. Thanks for your help

The left front jack error code ("LF) you are getting on your Lippert Ground Control System like # LC675817 can be triggered by a few different things.
The first, which it seems you may have already ruled out, is that the system is for whatever reason not getting power from the battery. Since you have verified that the battery is in good condition and fully charged, we can cross this one off.
Another possible cause is a wiring issue or maybe a bad/weak ground connection. Make sure there is no damaged wiring or loose harness and fix as needed. Then make sure that you have a good ground connection, as a weak ground can certainly be causing the sporadic operation of your system. The ground wires should be attached to clean, bare metal surfaces that are free of any corrosion, paint, or debris.
It sounds like the trailer shop is simply resetting the system in order to clear out the error message, but not actually fixing the underlying issue that is causing the problem. If the above solutions do not work to fix the issue, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
