Question:
I have a 2012 Prius V. Can this hitch support a Swagman Escapee bike rack with 2 50lb bikes? Do you have video install instructions for this hitch?

Expert Reply:
Since the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7192 is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver you most certainly can use it with the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR to carry your two 50 lb bikes. I attached a review video of the EcoHitch for you. EcoHitch set the difficulty for this installation at a 9 out of 10 so if you aren't very comfortable with working on vehicles then you would want to take it to your local shop to have them perform the installation.
One thing that needs to be noted is the weight capacity of your 2012 Toyota Prius V. I looked up your owner's manual online and it didn't give a specific tongue weight rating so you need to contact the nearest Toyota dealer to ensure you are not overloading your vehicle. The weight of your 50 lbs bikes and the bike rack adds up to 160 lbs which is what the dealer needs to know.
