Flat towing a vehicle requires 5 components: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system.

For your 1994 Jeep Wrangler you would need base plates, # 1409-1 that you have referenced. These are standard base plates that provide a secure and safe attachment point for a compatible tow bar.

For a tow bar, the most economical is the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, with a 5,000 pound capacity. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.

For safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster Coiled Cables, # RM-643. These cables have a 6,000 pound capacity and the coiled design helps to keep the cables from contacting the ground.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle that is being towed. The easiest to use and install is the Even Brake, # RM-9400.
