In your 2017 Toyota 4Runner installation of the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR can use wiring adapter # 3041-P in conjunction with the parts included with the controller. This adapter has a white OEM connector to plug in at the under-dash brake controller port; you will cut off the other connector (the black plug) and then splice the four wires color for color to the harness included with the Tow Pro. You can use butt connectors # DW05745-5.
The linked video shows you the entire process in a 4Runner.
