Question:
Thanks for your reply as to the fit of the Gateway 2 on my 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT5 Sport Hatchback. Id like to know if the Gateway 2 hatch mounted is recommended to actually rest on the rear bumper or not on this car. There is more plastic on the hatch edges then earlier models and only a small area of metal for the side straps. Is that small area OK to hook the side straps to? One of the features of the Archway 2foot model is that it has more clearance for the spoiler. Is this for a top spoiler as on the GT5 hatchback, or for those with lower spoilers? Thanks...

For your 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport Hatchback, I recommend the Thule Gateway Pro 2-Bike Rack # TH88VR. I checked with Thule and was able to confirm that this will fit and work great on your GT (hatchback) model Elantra. This is a really nice, 2-bike trunk rack that features long, arching body tubes designed specifically for vehicles like yours and Hold Fast cradles that will hold the bikes at 3 different points. The carrier can secure two bikes of up to 35 pounds each.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this bike rack that you can check out.
If you plan on transporting any children's, woman's, or alternative frame bikes, you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have attached a demonstration video on this product so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
