I'm looking to purchase a Demco 21k hijacker #DM8550038 for my 2018 Ford F350 short bed with a prep package. I will be using it with a Trailair. I was wondering if I need to get special locking plates or anything else and if so which ones? I was also curious about maintenance for it. What do you recommend/offer that would help maintain it? Also, I see the one I'm going to purchase is in stock. How long do you think it would take to get it?

For your 2018 Ford F-350 short bed with the factory hitch prep package, the Demco Hijacker AutoSlide Hitch, Item # DM8550038, will work well for you. It is a confirmed fit for the 4 receiver puck system in your truck and will automatically slide back when you are in a tight turn to give the clearance you need.

You will need locking plates to use a Trailair pin box like the Demco Hijacker Autoslide Locking Plate, Item # DM6095.

With regards to maintenance, follow the guidelines in the owner's manual and you will be fine.
