Question:
I have a 2015 transit 250 diesel with the factory tow package and the 7 pin wired and powered. I can tow my trailers and all the lights work but I have no trailer brakes. The pig tail is not located under my cup holders as some have and so I must hard wire the controller in. I purchased an aftermarket pig tail from you a while back that has the 4 wire set up I need. I am hoping you have a detailed installation guide for my year vehicle. My assumptions from what I read: 1 Splice into the blue wire that goes to the 7 pin. I dont know where the wire begins at the front of the vehicle and dont want to run a wire all the way to the rear if I dont have to. 2 The brake switch wire is the red wire and needs to be spliced to the pedal switch. 3 The black should go to the battery with an auto 20 amp fuse and 4 the white is the ground. So given all that is correct I need to know the location of the blue wire at the front or any helpful information that you have. Thank you

To the best of our knowledge there is no plug-in adapter that will work on your 2015 Ford Transit T250. There should be a bundle of wires under the driver side dash that you can connect the adapter that you have picture to. Simply cut off the end that doesn't connect to your brake controller and use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for the following functions that you can splice your harness to:
Blue - Brake Controller Output
Black - 12V Power
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake controller is pressed)
The only time you need to run additional wiring like what comes with the kit # 5506 is if you cannot find any wires that have those signals or if your 7-Way isn't fully functioning. If you don't already have a brake controller then I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which comes with a pigtail that has open wires ready for splicing.
If you jump to the 18:00 mark in the linked video you can see our installer locate some of the wires needed for splicing in a brake controller.
