Question:

Hello! I would like to install a roof basket on my 2015 Chevy 2500HD Crew Cab, and i wasnt sure what all i need to do it. Do i need to install a roof rack first? Do you have any suggestions for Roof racks and roof baskets that work well together? I may also want to mount a LED light bar on the rack. Thanks for the Help!

Yes, you will need to install a roof rack before you can affix a cargo basket to the roof of your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. For this, I recommend the Thule Aero Load Bar Roof Rack part # TH711520, part # TH710501, and part # TH145105. This system has aero shaped crossbars which produces one of the quietest roof racks on the market. I have attached a review video of this system for you as well.

Then for a cargo basket, I recommend the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket part # TH859XT which has dimensions of 49" long x 40" wide x 6" tall. It also has an included fairing to help reduce drag and wind noise. I have attached a review video of the basket for you as well.

In order to lock the basket to the roof rack and the roof rack to the vehicle you would need a total of 8 locking cores which can be acquired with part # TH450800. Unfortunately, they do not make anything that will allow you to attach a light bar directly to this basket but you could install the MaxxTow Off-Road Light Bar part # MT80635 in front of the basket to the roof itself. Again, I have attached a review video of the light bar as well.
