Question:
This video you posted to help installation of the Prodigy 90885 on a 2012 Tacoma is Deceiving. It show the installer finding the connector port on the left hand within a vertical bundle of wires behind the kick plate. The connector that the installer finds, and is led to believe is the correct one is rectangle shaped, and has 8 slotted pins on it. Then the video fades- out and fades back -in with the hands of the installer holding a completely square 5 pin plug! Whats up with that? Im trying to find the connector for my truck using your video as a guide, but I dont know where to look for it now. Can you please direct me to where that connector is on my truck? Its a 2012 Tacoma 4x4, 4 door, extended bed with factory installed tow package. Thank you,

I watched the video you mentioned and while I agree the video is a bit confusing what's it's intending to show is that you have to dig around in that area looking for the right connector and not use the 8 pin connector they show initially. It's not always easy to find as the harness can settle from miles on the road and not be super easy to find. You'll just have to dig around till you find the right one for the # 3040-P.
