Question:

I would like to know if C48200 and BWPMHD14004 are compatible. The mounting plate shows a horizontal spacing between holes of 3 3/8, but the pintle hook/ball shows a spacing of 3 1/2. Obviously this is a very small difference, but I need to know if there is enough play between those holes for the mounting hardware. I really like this combo because I have a 14k pound trailer with a 2 5/16 ball mount, and I need a quite a bit of drop . This seems much more secure to me than many other adjustable hitches. Thank you.

The Curt Pintle Hook # C48200 referenced in your question will work with the B&W Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # BWPMHD14004. The difference mounting holes between the two items will actually allow for a secure fit.

The # C48200 pintle hook features the same 3-3/8 inch horizontal and 1-3/4 inch vertical mount hole spacing as the B&W plate. It also includes the 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball and has a 16,000 pound towing weight capacity. Keep in mind though that the 2-5/16 inch ball itself only has a 14,000 pound capacity.

This measurement had been listed incorrectly on our site but was corrected in 2021.
