Hi I have a Malibu x13 kayak and I want to know if the 581 rear loading kayak carrier will fit the shape of this hull .

I called the manufacture of the Rhino Rack Nautic 581 Rear Loading Kayak Carrier part # RR581 and they told me that it would probably work with your Malibu X-13 kayak but would not be the best way to carry the kayak due to the shape of the hull. The best way to carry this kayak would involve a very simple crossbar pad like Rhino-Rack SUP and Surfboard Pads part # RRRWP05 along with tie-downs like the Rhino-Rack Bonnet Tie-Down Strap with Anchor part # RRRBAS1-2.

The hull of the kayak where it will be seated on the crossbars will be very flat which is why I recommend using the crossbar pads. This method is going to offer the most secure method to carry your kayak without worry. You should be able to cruise down the highway at speeds up to 80 mph without worrying about the kayak while using this system.
