How to Safely Use the Square Direct Weld Jack TJD-12000SP-R2
Updated 02/21/2018 | Published 02/20/2018 >
Question:
Do you have a video or manual to explain the step by step to operate the foot plate when you pull the spring. I work for a city in Canada and we have had 3 operators injure them selves with the spring return system. Anything available would help. Thank you

If you aren't familiar with a jack like Square Direct Weld Jack # TJD-12000SP-R2 it can have a little bit of a learning curve.
Here is how it works:
As you probably know the jack leg retracts quickly. First make sure the jack is not supporting a load. If the drop leg is extended the operator should place a foot on the foot plate to control the return of the drop leg.
To lower the drop leg turn the pin to the disengaged position. The bracket around the pin is shaped so that when the pin is turned the bracket holds it in the open position. Then using your foot carefully move the drop leg to the desired position.
Engage the drop leg pin by rotating it to the engaged position and into the desired adjustment hole. You will know when the pin is fully inserted into the jack when there is no space between the pin and the housing (bracket). If there is space then the drop leg will need to be adjusted until the pin fully seats.
So when you are ready to lower the drop leg rotate the pin, use foot to push the drop leg into position, rotate the pin to lock the drop leg in that position, make sure the pin is fully inserted before removing your foot.
