Bulldog Square Jack Compatibility and Replacement Recommendation for 26" Lift

Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 01/24/2026

Question:

Hello, I currently have a Bulldog BD183816 paired and the 2nd jack is beginning to fail. The jack is rusted heavily and is difficult to lift. The ruined jack does not have a sticker and I cant identify the brand. Can you confirm that this jack, is the correct pair? BD182815 If this is correct, can you also confirm that you are out of stock till November on it? If so, do you have an acceptable alternative?

Hello James,

Yes, the Bulldog Square Jack # BD182815 is the matching leg to the Bulldog 2-Speed Jack # BD183816. Bulldog is owned by First Brands Horizon, who filed for bankruptcy, which is why this part is currently on backorder. I am not sure if Bulldog has been bought out yet, so I cannot say for certain whether that estimated date is accurate.

I know this is not the answer you were hoping for, but I would recommend replacing both jacks. The Square 2-Speed Jack w/ Crank # TJD2SP-12000SP-F will work as your lead leg. For the follow leg, you will want the etrailer Square Direct Weld Jack # TJD-12000SP-F2. You can simply remove the crank handle from the # TJD-12000SP-F2 since you will be using the handle on the lead leg.

What kind of trailer is this going on?

Hey James, how did things go with the replacement jacks for your setup? Were the 2-speed and follow-leg jacks a good match for your trailer? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same Bulldog jack issue.
