I am unsure if you have a model that fits. Can you confirm if you have one that is going to fit for sure?

Curt trailer hitch # C11028 is the only option for a 2007 Mazda Miata. It does fit convertible models. It will not fit models that have the appearance package which is a body kit that is different from other versions of the Miata. On it the fascia will hang lower than other models and will interfere with the hitch installation. If you look at the video I have linked the Miata in it does NOT have the appearance package.

If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.

Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. I have linked the Class I compatible 2-bike racks and cargo carriers for you.
