Where to Install Fifth Wheel Rails in Cab and Chassis Truck
Updated 02/19/2018 | Published 02/18/2018 >
Question:
I have a 2009 E350 dually chassis that has a short cab. So I have a open uncovered frame from the cab back and can place a 5th wheel hitch virtually anyplace I want. So in this ideal situation where would you say is the best location. Would you place it directly over the axle or forward? And if forward... how much. Thanks for your help.

You want the center of the fifth wheel jaws to be either totally centered over the rear axle of the truck or 1 to 2 inches forward. If you place the rails like that you'd be set.
