Would you be able to tell me if you have a Crew Cab on your Silverado? Also, do you know what kind of bumper you have? Standard, Step, Roll Pan, Deep Drop. I also assume your truck is 4WD but want to confirm that as well. If you can get back to me with this information I may be able to find you something that works.

We do have a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver that is a confirmed fit for your 1989 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a standard cab and bumper. The Curt # C13082 is a bolt-on installation with 2 inch receiver, 6,000 lb capacity and 600 lb tongue weight capacity; I checked with Curt to confirm this fit. If you need to add a 4-way to power your trailer's lights I recommend the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester # 18252. If you are going to be towing, I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise. I've also attached links to a video review of the ball mount kit and our page with each of our ball mounts.
