Installation of Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56111 on a 2008 Subaru Impreza
Published 06/30/2011 >
Question:
Where do you mount the converter? If this goes underneath the car is there danger of this becoming corroded? What is the best route for the power wire to the battery? Does the kit include a connector for the battery? Thanks and Regards,

To install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C56111 on your 2008 Subaru Impreza you will want to make your tail light connections first and then attach the white ground wire to a good, clean ground on your vehicles frame. After those connections are made you will want to see where the converter box ends up being located and find a good spot that the converter box can attach to. Try to find a large enough area that will allow you to attach all of the double-sided tape on the converter to a good solid area, out of the way of any moving parts.
The converter box can be installed on the outside of the vehicle and will not cause any harm to the electrical system. The box is sealed so the weather cannot get to the inside of the converter box.
I am including a link to a video of a similar wiring harness being installed on a Nissan Xterra. It will show at the 2 minute and 45 second mark of the video where they are mounting the converter box underneath the vehicle in a good location. The video will also show how they run the power wire from the converter to the front of the vehicle.
The kit does include an inline fuse holder, ring connectors, and a butt connector for attaching the power wire to your vehicles battery.
I am including a link to the installation instructions of the Curt wiring harness.
