The Camco RV Universal Fit Stovetop Cover and Splash Guard # CAM43554 referenced in your question does feature a durable, powder-coated steel construction that can handle the weight of standard kitchen items like a crock pot or skillet. While it can handle the weight of these items without issue, I do not recommend using the cover as an actual cooking surface, as it is simply not built for this purpose.
