Recommended Trailer Hitch and Installer for 2016 Honda Civic

We do not currently have an approved list of mechanics/shops for installing a trailer hitch on your vehicle, however any local mechanic with a good reputation will be able to handle the installation without issue.

For your 2016 Honda Civic, I recommend going with the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11604 if you have a Sedan model, or the Curt Class I # C11463 if you have the Coupe. Both of these hitches are custom-fit for the vehicle they are designed to attach to, meaning they will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame to minimize any drilling and help simplify installation.

Please note that for both hitches, Curt does require that a stabilizing strap like # 18050 be used for any non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier. I have included a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it is used.

For the Sedan model hitch, there is an estimated installation time of 40 minutes and for the Coupe model hitch, the estimated installation time is 60 minutes. I have attached installation videos for each, along with the written instructions. You can use this information in order to obtain an accurate estimate from a local mechanic.
