How do you know if you have the right length and size for your rv??

Did your RV have a ladder on it at one point? Do you know the height of the RV? The RV Ladder # LA-401 that you referenced is a very universal size at 99-1/2 inches tall though so it's pretty uncommon that this size does not work.

This can also be trimmed down if it's too long which basically means that you could make it fit your RV without too much work.
