If you already have a hitch receiver lock then you can use a coupler lock, like our etrailer.com part # e98888 that you referenced, to deter theft of your trailer.
However, if you do not already have a hitch receiver lock then I recommend using something like the Bulldog Lifelong Trigger-Style Coupler Lock and 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # BD580404 instead. This will help to deter someone from simply removing your ball mount to steal your boat trailer.
The receiver lock is compatible with a 2" receiver and the coupler lock has a pin that is 3/4" long and has a 1/4" diameter. This is compatible with most trailer setups but you will want to do some measuring just to make sure.
