A brake controller will be required for you to use the electric brakes on your new camper with your 2014 Jeep Cherokee. To add a brake controller, there are a few things you'll need if your Jeep does not have the factory tow package. To start add the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56208 as well as the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will give you the needed connections to plug into the 7 pole connector on your camper.

The next thing you'll need, of course, is the brake controller itself. I strongly recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195; it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your Cherokee's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.

The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers.
