What is the difference between 21608 and 21782? Both are for Chevrolet extra short bed trucks 68. Will the 21608 base rails fit on a 2017 Silverado extra short bed?

TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-608 does not fit the 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 5-1/2 foot bed. The difference between it and the one that does fit your truck, # TH43002XT-782, is how they attach to the bed and where the mounting holes for the hardware need to be. So you won't be able to use the 21608 rails on a 2017 model.
