The Plug-N-Tow (R) Short Proof Powered Taillight Converter - Heavy Duty # 46365 can be used on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma and will work fine. However, I recommend a wiring harness that makes installation easier and doesn't require splicing that also draws power from the battery to protect your vehicle's electrical components.
I recommend the Curt T-Connector # C56349. This harness plugs into your factory wiring already present behind the tail lights with quick connects and then a hot lead is run to the battery. I've attached a video of this installation to assist.
