Question:
Will these work to replace the cheap small round compartment lock found on most older rvs if the mounting hole is cut to increase the size for fit?

You can use the Global Link RV Baggage Door Slam Latch # 295-000015 as a general-purpose replacement for OEM fixtures on your RV. This assembly's exterior mounting flange measures 4-1/2 x 5 x 1-1/2-inches.
I went to our warehouse and measured the lock to determine what size opening it will require. The opening it will need is 3-1/4 x 3-3/8.
