Since your 2015 Nissan Xterra has factory crossbars installed on it the simplest and most cost efficient solution is going to be to install a rack on them that attaches directly.
The Yakima FatCat 6 part # Y03096 would be a fantastic option that I have confirmed as a fit. This can carry up to 6 skis or 4 snowboards at a time and would work well. Check out the review video I attached for more info as well.
