Question:
I am looking for a brake control box for my RV. It is a 2007 Coachmen Cross Country 389DS. Not sure what type of plug it needs. It is factory prewired as far as I know. Can you tell me exactly what I need to get my trailer brakes working with my motorhome. Thx

Expert Reply:
The 2007 Coachmen Cross Country 389DS Class A Cummins diesel pusher motorhome is built on a Freightliner XC chassis, according to my research.
For this base chassis trailer brake controller installation is simple if the vehicle has the factory pre-wired 7-way tow package. In this case the connection point for the controller, such as the user-friendly and reliable Prodigy P3 # 90195, will be under the dash. You will use wiring adapter part # 3027-P to connect the controller to the vehicle's connection port.
Under your dash check for a square connector that matches and mates with the one shown in the linked photo.
