Question:
I am trying to find a hitch for a 2008 Toyota Avalon that has a 2in draw bar opening so the accessories that I already have will fit in like the bike rack and the cargo hauler

The available trailer hitch for the 2008 Toyota Avalon is the Curt Class I hitch with 1-1/4 inch receiver: # C11427.
Since there are no Class III, 2 inch hitch options available you would need an adapter, # HTAD, to be able to use a 2 inch accessory. However, the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
Both hitches mentioned above have a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. When using the adapter it will be reduced to 100 pounds. That means the combined weight of the accessory and anything on it cannot exceed 100 pounds.
You should also be aware that Class I trailer hitches are limited to carrying 2 bikes on a bike rack. The issue is not the weight but instead how far that weight is from the receiver. It would put too much stress on the Class I hitches.
Also, on this hitch, Curt requires the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, when using the hitch for anything other than towing a trailer. I know all of this information is probably not what you wanted to hear but it is better to know now than get surprised later!
