Question:
Comparing the 2 choices you have for my vehicle it appears the Draw-tite will require cutting some of the plastic trim off. It doesnt appear the Curt brand would require that at least it doesnt mention it in installation directions.. I would prefer to order the one that does NOT require trimming....want to keep my new vehicle pristine for a while....I know....haha. Thanks for assistance....then I will order one up!

For your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan the Curt Class II part # C12177 and the Curt Class III part # C13381 both do not require any fascia trimming for installation. The install is incredibly basic for a hitch. You just temporarily lower the exhaust hangers and then bolt the hitch up in place.
The Class III hitch would be what I would go with as it has a 2 inch opening which is the more popular size and has more weight capacity.
