Question:
Thank you, Jameson C, for your quick and thorough response. I will study your recommendations in detail and probably order everything I need at one time. But just to be certain that I understand your answer completely before I begin to devour the installation instructions and view all the available videos, your recommendation is that I would still need the #11950KIT but ALSO the 7-Way Adapter Part #ETBC7 and the brake controller #90885 for electric trailer brakes? Or in other words, the complete install would require: #24920 hitch #36071 ball mount #19256 hitch ball #11950KIT wiring kit PLUS: #ETBC7 7-way adapter and #90885 brake controller Is that correct? Have I forgotten anything for installation for a 2018 Honda Fit? Once totally and correctly installed, could I easily switch back and forth between trailers wired without electric brakes or 4-way, and trailers wired with electric brakes or 7-way? Or would switching between trailers with and without electric brakes require either rewiring the vehicle or the trailer? This may sound like a silly question and the answer may appear very obvious once I start the installation but I ask simply because there will be occasions when I wish to tow smaller trailers that I don't own as for instance, if I rent jet skis with their specially designed trailers.

You would need to convert the 4-way # 119250KIT to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
