Question:

My hitch has a dutton clausen ,now Lainson, coupler , 1 7/8 ball. Will the less expensive Curt replacement coupler work , and should i even consider it to save $10? Thank you

The Coupler Repair Kit for 2" Curt Couplers # C25194 might fit your Dutton Clausen coupler, however I can't confirm that it will or will not fit. We don't have your coupler to compare and test fit. Due to the age of your coupler, I also cannot confirm that the Repair Kit for Dutton-Lainson Class II and III Couplers # DL13970 will fit.

My recommendation is to replace your old coupler with the Trailer Coupler 1-7/8" Ball 3" Channel Tongue (2,000 lbs.) by Dutton-Lainson # DL13728. This will give you a coupler and latch that is designed to work together and will fit your trailer.
