Question:
Looking to put the best tires possible on my toy hauler. Specs call for 235/80R 16E. Carlisle is currently on there - China made. Id spend whatever to reduce risk of tire failure. I understand proper inflation and speeds are most important but would love a strong recommendation. Thanks.

The best tire that we have to offer for replacing your 235/80R16 Load Range E tires comes from Westlake and can be found on our site with part # LHWL401. It is the same 235/80R16 size and has the same Load Range of E (3,520 lbs at 80 psi), plus it comes with a Speed Rating of L (75 mph).
Not only are the tires themselves good, but they also come with a 5-year warranty that comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
You are correct that the most important things that you can do to ensure a long tire life is to inflate it to the recommended psi and to not exceed the speed rating of the tire as overheating is the most common cause for tire failure.
The only other things that you can do to help get the most life out of your tires are to be very careful when making turns that you do not hit the tires on a curb or other obstacles as that will damage the sidewall, and to use tire covers when the trailer is not being used. Although the elements do take a toll on tires, the most harmful thing is UV rays. The 235/80R16 size tire is about 30.9 inches in diameter so for that I recommend using Adco Tyre Gard Dual Axle RV Wheel Cover # 290-3922 which will help to protect your tires from UV rays and other harmful elements. This dual axle tire cover also comes in Black # 290-3932, Diamond Plate # 290-3722, and Camo # 290-3622.
