Question:

I am seriously considering the Carpod cargo carrier with rise. My main purpose will be to carry a 150 lb. Yamaha inverter generator - EF3000iSEB. Like the security factor of the Optional lid for this carrier. Would this carrier work for my application?

The Carpod Cargo Carrier has a weight capacity of 450 lbs, is 48-3/4" long x 24" wide x 22" tall, and the weather-resistant bag that comes with is 46" long x 22" wide x 22" tall. The Yamaha inverter generator that you referenced is 26.8" long x 17.5" wide x 21.9" tall, so this carrier would work with 1/10" to spare.

You would also want a hitch pin, or an anti-rattle hitch pin and lock, # 63232 to go with it. For the security you are looking for, your best bed would be to use a high-quality padlock such as the Master Lock # ML140DLH.
