Coupler Lock Recommendation for Jayco X23B Travel Trailer

Question:
I purchased this lock for my 2 5/16inch trailer coupler on my Jayco X23B travel Trailer. Unfortunately, the neck where the ball part narrows down around the ball is too thick for the lock to slide all the way on so that the locking bolt cannot push into the ball area. The two solutions I can see are grinding down the coupler to make it narrower or widening out the collar on the locking mechanism. The lock has a flare on it near the ends of the semi-circle. If this was knocked down a bit farther down on the arm , the lock would get past the fat part of the coupler mechanism. Can you recommend any way to correct this problem? Is there another similar type lock that you would recommend instead of this part? I made all the measurements before ordering but the hitch coupler on the trailer tongue is just a bit wider than the collar opening.

I can't recommend you modify the part # 63227 to fit the coupler on your trailer but we do have the Fastway coupler lock part # FA86-0015-318 that we have found to be very universal and can fit almost any coupler out there.
I attached a picture that shows several of the coupler styles it easily fits.
