Rubber Crossbar Gasket for the Thule Mountaineer 669TT

Question:
I just bought a new car. The mounting hardware for my old Thule Mountaineer 669TT scratched the crossbars on my old roof rack, which didnt bother me with my 10 year old car but Id like to keep the new one looking nice and shiny. Can I use the rubber gasket to protect the crossbars instead of the box?

I would not switch the rubber gaskets from the cargo box to your crossbars. In order to protect your crossbars from the mounting brackets used on the Thule Mountaineer 669TT, I recommend using the Replacement Quick On/Off Mounting Bar Protector Pads part # TH05001. You will want to use two sets to protect both crossbars. These will work well with the crossbars on your vehicle and the Thule Mountaineer 669TT cargo box.
