Recommended Transmission Cooler For A 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Updated 08/03/2017 | Published 08/02/2017 >
Question:
Looking for your recommendation on the best cooler for my automatic 2014 Trail Teams FJ. The tow rating for this truck is around 4800 lbs and we typically tow a 3,500 lb RV. My local dealer will be installing so I will need all the parts necessary, instructions and your recommendation as to the best location to install. Also, do I need to worry about winter time over cooling? Thanks!

Generally speaking, the best transmission cooler to use would be the largest one you have available space for behind the grill and in front of the radiator. The largest available cooler we have as a confirmed fit for your 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D12902. This kit comes with everything needed for installation, including instructions which you can also find linked to this answer page. The winter season will not affect performance.
This cooler will work well with your vehicle and 3,500 lb. camper to allow for optimal towing performance and maximum transmission life. I have attached both a review and installation video of this cooler for you.
