Question:

I have a two section folding tailgate , 2 ft by 78 inch wide. My side rails are 23 tall. Will this product work on my tailgate? I would think I would have to attach it to the lower section and when its closed I can fold the top section down. But any suggestions are very welcome. I would very much like to use the barrel lift assist. Thank you very much for any help with this.

The Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Chain - 200 lbs # RA-27C is a great option for your 2 section tail gate. Without knowing exactly how the two sections are attached to each other, I can only give you some general thoughts. The chain is adjustable in length and repairable using # DB-CRK and the height issue may require modifications for this to work properly.

You can attach the bracket to the top section and then add a second bracket and a bar to secure the sections together with pin and clips. Then remove the bar to fold tailgate.

You can add a second bracket or eyelet to the second section and use a carabineer to allow you to attach to each section quickly and easily.
