Question:
I purchased a used 9000. Do you need a separate breakaway system for the 9000?

Expert Reply:
Certain models of the Brakemaster 9000 Series included a break away system. If there is not one with the unit you purchased, it will need to be added separately.
I recommend the RoadMaster BrakeAway Kit # RM-8600. This kit is designed to work with the BrakeMaster supplemental braking system and will work to bring your towed vehicle to a stop in the event of a separation.
