Question:

I dont seem to be able to find an answer addressing this. The instructions in the Installation Instructions 5AS16K are: MAINTENANCE: 1. For ease of hookup: frequently lubricate the wedge surfaces, around the king pin, and the skid plate surface, apply a lithium grease to the bearing surfaces as described in the assembly section of this manual. Note: Resistance is typical in the Sidewinder™ arm 2. Keep pin-box hitch painted to prevent rust and maintain a good appearance. Do Not paint over labels 3. At least once per season, disassemble unit to clean, inspect, lubricate and re-torque fasteners. Does step 3 include disassembly, cleaning and lubrication of the pivot pin and wear plate? My contact at Reese said that the 3rd step in the maintenance process of the 5th Airborne Sidewinder Standard Arm with King Pin # 5AS16K involves taking cleaning and lubricating with White Lithium Grease, like part # L11354, the big square wear disc (or plate) and the round disc that is under the cap.
