Thickness of Plate on the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23102

Question:
Im planning to use these to mount something other than an axle, and need to know how thick the plates are. The items I want to hold together are 1.5inch by 3, and the bolts might be too short for my needs if the plate is too thick. Can you help? Thanks!

I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and they informed me that the plate of the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23102 is 1/4 inch thick.
