Bike Rack Recommendation for 2 inch Hitch at the Rear of an RV

Updated 07/05/2017 | Published 07/03/2017

Question:

Got a quick question about the Hollywood Rack HR1475 add-on kit. I have an RV that has a standard 2inch hitch. I would like to use the HR1475 to hold two bikes and it into the 2inch receiver. Does the HR1475 fit into a standard 2inch hitch? I have looked at the installation manual for the 1475 and it does show it fitting as an add-on/extension for the HR1450, HR145R, and HRT220. I suspect that it does but wanted to confirm first. If you have a 1475 in-stock you can check its fitment in any 2inch receiver at the warehouse. Thanks in advance,

I have a great bike rack solution for you, but not all bike racks are rated for the rougher ride quality at the rear of an RV. The Hollywood Racks bike racks are great racks but they are not RV rated.

At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use.

The most similar bike rack we offer that would fit and work well is the Swagman Dispatch part # S44FR which is RV rated and would do an excellent job.
