Question:
Can this bed slide travel in the extended position? For example... hauling 14ft 2×4s from the lumber yard.

We can offer you a solution to haul lengthy cargo, but the CargoGlide is designed to give you easier access to your cargo and should not be in the extended position while traveling. The reason for this is because when driving, additional force would be added to the sliding bed that wouldn't be present when you are parked, which it is not designed to support.
If you are looking to transport something like 14 ft. 2x4's, I recommend the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack, # EM07707. It is a simple clamp-on installation, has side rails for extra support, and a weight capacity of 800 lbs. All you'd need to move those 2x4's are tie-down straps, # 34414.
I've added a link to a video review of this rack for you to check out.

Is it a true 48? 48 plywood will not fit into a 48 wide opening without squeezing in there. If it was 48 1/4 or 48 1/2 confidence would be higher but 48 exact I dont think will work. Have you tried it? Thanks!
