Question:

I have a thule bike rack that I would like to secure with a lock on the receiver end. will the E-trailer lock work or do I have to buy the Thule lock. I am concerned about the threaded portion of the lock.

I do have a solution for you, however the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64030 referenced in your question will not work with your Thule Bike Rack. As you mentioned, this is because Thule Bike Racks have very specific threads and bolt sizes that will only be compatible with Thule accessories.

I instead recommend using the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock # THSTL2. This will be compatible with the shank on your bike rack and will also serve as an anti-rattle device to minimize movement inside the hitch receiver. You can add the Thule Cable Lock # TH538XT to also secure your bikes to the rack.
