Question:
For some unknown reason I cannot get the ball out of the factory center hole in my 2014 3500. I tried pulling the pin up and turned the pin both ways and it will not release the little . So I must be doing something wrong but I do not know what. It has a 2 5/16inch 19 30,000 lbs.

If you have the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loops Kit for Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60618, the pin needs to be lifted and rotated only about 90 degrees to release the steel ball bearing pressure. The Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit for Ram Under-Bed Gooseneck Hitch # RP30140 has a wider tab that is slightly easier to rotate that same 90 degrees for removal.
If the ball will not release when in proper position, I recommend spraying some penetrating oil like the UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant - 12-oz Aerosol with Straw into the ball bearings and use a rubber mallet to send vibration through the system to loosen the connection for removal.
