Comparing Timbren Front Helper Springs for a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer AWD

Question:

Currently having a bull bar/winch plate being made out of 1/4inch steel for a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Best guess the combined weight of metal and winch will be about 200 - 250 lbs. I realize the 1,000 lb suspension would obviously be more than sufficient, but since the 2,000 lb suspension is the same price wouldnt it be better to upgrade? Whats the ride difference as far as stiffness? Vehicle will be used off road in rough terrain on a regular basis if that makes a difference. I always believe in overkill, but occasionally it causes me problems. I do not want any front end lift as the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit I recently purchased from you has the vehicle sitting perfect...of course I dont want it lower from the added weight either. Super nice upgrade by the way - vehicle feels/handles so much better. I can now fly down gravel washboard roads with almost zero rear wheel bounce. Ha!

The higher the helper springs are rated the stiffer the ride will be. Since the 1,000 pound springs # TFXF1004A will be more than enough for your application and 2000 Mercury Mountaineer I would go with them and limit the stiffness of the ride quality.

Timbren springs # TFXF1004A are only for 4x4 models which may be referred to as all-wheel drive from the manufacturer.
